Old School Cool was a project to create platform to further history education through the more obscure events & objects to bring it to life.
I’d seen that many people, including many friends, have a bad experience with history. They find boring and bland since history books tend to revolve around politics and dry policy. The goal with this project was to bring interesting episodes from history to life and package them in a more palatable format.
Post Mortem: The intended monetization method for the project was affiliate marketing & adsense, but a downturn in those industries along with the rise of generative AI decreased my confidence in the project’s ability to gain traction and interest. I may return to this concept in the future if I feel interest is there.
